As you are laid off 'unfit for duties' that could well mean extra-fraid I dont know, keep a record of all job enquiries , offers and refusals as it could help your case and bear in mind as you are unable to carry on in your area of expertise that should entitle you to retraining - dont be tempted to give a too positive answer to the 'what can you do' question - you are a p way worker and have no skills or expertise in anything else!, I believe you could well quallify for incapacity benifit-industrial injury, if you want a chat you know where I am, I tried to give a positive attitude when I had to leave the service on suposed health grounds....ended up cutting my own throat and loosing out big time. anyway good luck mate

is well hidden and you realy "lay it on", forget using a shovel use the front bucket of a JCB then pile it deeper and remember only answer the question you were asked do not voulunteer anything.
I know it sounds like you will be infront of the gestapo but I have found them very quick to cut any benefit but they wont tell you of any that you are entitled to, thats up to you to find out for yourself. So treat them the same.
If they dont ask the question they dont get told.
On that cheerfull note I,ll leave you with this. You are unfit for work due to no fault of your own and I think you will find that your "payout" will be better than you are worried it will be
All the best. I,ve got everything crossed. IanI've taken a vow of poverty To anoy me send money

Gutted Rich,
As others have said it's time to get as much as you can out of the system as you can.
They are doing this at a time when there are bugga jobs available, so play on the disability.
Remember to keep all correspondence so they cannot weedle out.
Good luck mate

Try to look on the positive side Richard - with your attitude this could be a great opportunity !
On top of all the other sensible advice you've been given start a couple of diaries, one for your compo claim and one for your benefits, then record every single thing that happens - don't even start to talk on the phone until you know exactly who you're talking to.
Good luck and don't even think about accepting a payout before their third offer !
Life is too important to take seriously !

my first offer was 15k and that was before the insurers knew about me not being allowed to do any manual work on track again and now this being laid off has got to boost the payout right up.
I would just be happy to be able to pay the mortgage off so i know we still got a roof over our heads and then down size to a bungallow we've seen very cheap with a triple length garage and massive garden and would suit us righthttps://www.facebook.com/groups/henpals/
