Two quid!!! i paid £40 for mine and had to drive up to swindon for it, another 40 quids worth of juice,
new bolts are adviseable as the olduns will have stretched a bit, may be ok but as your going to all that trouble its worth the extra,
inever did finish the filler neck on mine, was just going to run it up into the rear but haveing seen "blizzards" method, thought i'd have a go at that, he run it into the original filler and welded it into the original pipe, so when ya take the cap off you can see two holes down the spout if you know what i mean, fill with diesel as normal and with the use of a funnel and short pipe fill the veg down the other hole, seems better than spilling the stuff in the back

When fitting a second fuel tank for Veg is a second fuel pump required ?

I just bought two Teclamit 3 way valves and a Heat exchanger to run a twin tank set up. The Landy tank sounds a better option than a plastic marine tank in the boot.

The injector pump may be able to handle drawing veg from the tank but to save it overworking i was going to fit an electric pump in the line to the heatexchanger, i also fitted a heat exchanger inside the landy tank to help warm it a bit, another thing i was going to do was make a swirl tank up front near the IP so it had a ready supply of warmed (by a glow plug) veg, but could'nt get help working out the reed switch set up, it needed to start the electric pump and keep it on till the tank filled and the level reached the cut off reed switch, this may be possible with the use of diods but cant be arsed at the mo to do it,

the Teclamit valves are gooduns unlike the cheap looking pollak i got, saw some bad comments on the landy forums, one bloke said his disintergrated and bits went into the IP buggering the whole thing, i did'nt want a tank in the boot either, a mess about to fill and takes up too much room of which there aint much to start with

post some pics when ya all fitted up, always nice to see other guys work, share ideas etc, cheers ian

got pump out and head off

          Hi guy's
I finally got the head off and the injector pump out.
The head looks like it was blowing very slightly into two or three waterways, at least the markings on the head and block looked suspicious.

Done what i think is all the seals on the injector pump but I dont know if there is a seal on the unit (maybe solenoid) screwed into (with wires on) the top of the injector distributor assy.
cant find a spanner large enough or thin enough to fit this unit. Is there a seal there I need to replace????

also the pump seems to have some rotational adjustment when fitted is this just a final trim to make sure the timing marks match up???

          regards john

            Veggie filler

Just saw the post from Popeye about the two holed filler.
            That sounds a brillient idea.
When I get this head back on will have a look at the possibility of doing it that way.
Better than cutting up thro the floor and out thro the side like I thought originally.

Just cut all the ECT piping off and made blanking plates, figured if I am not going to use it why have it there and besides it got in the way when taking the head off so now its gone.

Hope all goes well on the rebuild, seems you found the problem with the head at least which i guess is a good thing

Any chance you could do a writeup, with pics, of the complete EGR removal part? Seem to remember that as never being covered completely in the past. The previous ones, (unless I've missed some), have always been a tad sketchy.

                      ECT removal

                      Hi Guy's
You can only do a complete removal as I have done if the engine is out. You cant get to the exhaust end of the stainless steel pipe unless it is out.
However you can remove the pipe from the Vac assy to the inlet manifold as long as you can get the nut off that is right alongside the bulk head.
I will do some pics of my head lying in the bench and mark what I have done.

Will do tomorrow too knackered now.

ECT? do you mean EGR? or have i missed summat else i could have removed? i got my rear pipe out with the head still in place but i do have a 2" body lift which gives you a bit more room around there,

                          Ect Egr

Sorry you are right EGR, I am getting diksleksic in my old age.

                          PS
Is your injector pump upright when fitted or is it sort of leaning to the nearside.

When I had it out I found that the fixings allow a rotational adjustment and looking at the marks it looks like the pump was fitted at the extreme of the rotation.
I cant remember what it was like before I took it out.
I have refitted it to these marks hence the leaning.

I presume it is some sort of timing adjustment.

I think mine is "leaning" a bit, i've some pics of mine as i stripped it if thats any help, i stripped it mainly for paint so i did'nt disturb the pump, everything else (except the head) came off tho,
see if the link works, click "view all" and there in there somewhere
