I got told that no insurance company will transfer company ncb to private.

          Anyone else get this???

Tesco's gave me 5 years no claims from my company car no claims - I had to get letters from both my previous exployers fleet manager and present employers fleet manager detailing claims history and i had to give the lease car back to the NHS (couldnt work out why but didnt want the little punto anyway - was just sitting there looking small and stupid). They told me once they had recieved the letters that they should only have taken the most recent employers claims history and not included my previous employers car - but when i complained they listened to the original telephone quote i had been given and said that it was their mistake so i could have the full discount!!!!!

One more for the list ....

Just got a couple of quotes from Privilege:

              £400 pa - £250 Excess
              £340 pa - £400 Excess

This compares with £310 for our 95 Volvo Estate (but with a £200 excess)

A small price to pay for having fun !

Well, I've rung every one of the companies listed here for a renewal quote, and in the end renewed again with A-Plan for £296 fully comp, protected NCB etc. They include cover for trail damage as long as I'm not in an organised competition agaist the clock, and BEST OF ALL they let me put Tony on the insurance too (Little do they know.....)

They wouldn`t mirror my N/C, not bad £350 though, And £300 0% n/c on the old car

Update... very interesting that although A-plan were far and away the cheapest for the surf (£296 fully comp) they were the WORST for a quote for the 4-runner (over £800)

Adrian Flux at £280 worked out the best for the Runner, however they wanted £580 for the surf.

Oh the mysteries of the insurance world.

                                Direct Line

I'm hopefully just about to buy my first Surf, I had a viewing today, and assuming there is no problems with the MOT then I'll be picking it up soon.

Anyway, so I set about getting insurance quotes. The best I've had so far is Direct Line (online quote) at around £371. One thing concerns me however... They identified the vehicle correctly by the registration number, but there was no mention of Import in the description. On the insurance details page is states that the vehicle must be full UK spec, unless the vehicles description includes Import. So, am I going to have problems? Should I give them a call and just confirm things with them?
