I'm with Footman James - they came up with the best quote for me. I'm 22, 1yr NCB, parked on driveway, 3 points, £1800 claim Jan 2000 partial fault etc.

Try Liverpool Victoria and dont take "We dont do imports" until you get through to someone who knows what they are talking about.

Try A-Plan - 0845-0711234. By far the cheapest I found.

                      I had a quote of Lifesure today for a 3ltr Surf [ which i don`t have yet ]
I have used them before for my import Celica.
Not that bad, needs to have a CAT1 fitted before they will insure though.
35 year old :-( full no claims quite a high post code area.
£395 only thing was a quite big excess but not a bad starting point.

                      Conker

                      PS
What is the going rate for a cat 1 fitted ?

i've got a TOAD A606i which has all the bells and whistles (literally!) that was £400 including some optional extras (closure, microwave proximity etc.)

Try NFU (National Farmers Union) got a feeling they stopped doing new policies on imports but worth a try.

                              This is strange!!
The Surf that I now own was insured with Liverpool Victoria by its previous owner, but they still refused to insure it for me.
They said it was new policy that they were not to take any further risks on imports even though this vehicle was already insured with them!!!!
