At the base of the gear shift lever, on the end of the shift linkage.

I thought I already said that!

You still haven't said whether your reverse bleeper still sounds when selecting reverse. This is your last chance, failure to respond will give me the excuse I need not to bother with this thread any more!

sorry my bad, i had not checked that... yes bleepers work perfect, after i changed atf and pricked about with kick down cable i headed for home, reversing out of garedn i put it into reverse, and noticed i had to give it a bit more throttle than usual to make it move, then forward whole way home, motorway felt funny, not hitting over drive gears then either.... checked ATF level and seemed ok, just changed kick down cable today and now tomorrow i put it all back together, and check that multi plug yokie, then if that dont work its off to see if stormmy has an ecu

You didn't mention that before about giving it extra throttle to make it reverse!
So reverse is present, just not fully.
Do you know how to check the ATF level correctly? as you say it 'seemed ' ok.

Then it is more likely to be atf or torque converter for him then ......

Any chance it could be something like this causing your, (and possibly Bob's), problem?

                              • According to that thread, there's one in the torque convertor. Sounds like it's more like a plastic type slip ring than an actual bearing though.
