I'm no expert but I'd suggest that you do a proper check of the ATF level - I'm not absolutely sure of the procedure but it's along the lines of:
Start up engine
Run through each gear in turn while stationary
Check level on ATF dipstick (With engine still running)
Use hot or cold mark dependent on whether the ATF is hot or not
Good luck
Life is too important to take seriously !

If you do then you'll need some RTV sealant to replace the gasket before re-fitting..

Did all the gears work before the fluid change?
1: change oil filter,
2: change oil
3: flush coolant
4: put 2 washers between turbo and waste gate
5:drain ATF from drain plug on bottom of gear box
6: topped up with about 4ltrs of Dexron II via dipstick
7: attempt change on kick - down cable,
8:got covered in all manner of vehicle fluids
9: lost reverse

Right then, you need to start the truck, foot on brake pedal, shift lever though all the gears pausing a couple of seconds in each one, back into 'P', leave engine running and check the fluid level on the dipstick. Remove it, give it a wipe and re-insert it. Pull it out and see where the level is. It needs to be about halfway in the cold section (on a cold engine) top up as necessary and re-check level again after repeating the above procedure.
Does the reverse beeper still work?
