  • Footman James

Getting my new (and first ) Surf on Sat, trying to arrange insurance at the moment and trying companies on the list, best by a long way is Footman James , amazing at £211 comp with protected no claims and some sort of breakdown insurance thrown in, that certainly quoted me happy !
BTW I am 42 with 7 years no claims etc, and stay in a low risk area (Isle of Skye)
Cheers and thanks for the info on Footman James (I would never have found them on my own)
    Alan

      • Try Norwich Union Direct

Just been quoted happy by Norwich Union Direct

Applied for insurance on the web site www.norwichunion.co.uk which as I have no NCB managed to get an automatic 20% discount - then phoned up as I needed a cover note with the chassis no on to keep DVLA happy and they honoured the web site price and had a cover note out in two days £420 per annum wife one accident and a few points!!

          • I was happy with my quote from Lifesure until I got the certificate - £300 excess which doubles if I have any claim, whether I am at fault or not.
Not impressed, will definately be looking round again next time.
Laugh!!! I nearly bought my own beer.

            • Insurance

I had a hell of a time trying to find an insurance company who would do Jap imports, then I asked Tesco and it was no problem, less than £500 fully comp, and I have zero no claims bonus and I park in the street.

                • Following my last post (about 3 back) http://www.yotasurf.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=79864#post798 64 I have just received a phonecall from the chap at Lifesure who says he has seen my post and my excess has now been reduced to £200 and the double excess following any claim I made has now been removed. Thank You Lifesure, my faith has been restored.

                            • Insurance woes

I've just waisted a weekend trying to get cover for my new surf, following numerous telephone calls to my current insurer IT's 4 Me The've finally told me "they don't cover imports!"

So I've now taken an afternoon of work to try and get cover.

After much surfing (no pun intended) I've spoken to a very very nice man from Lifesure insurance brokers who has given me a very competitive quote (£520, 7 years no claims, fully comp + business use & parked on street at night)

they were not the cheapest, but were the best in terms of cover and excess (£200)

They asked if I would mention them so here goes

Lifesure you have saved my bacon!........ Thank you!

If you can't stand the heat......... turn the heating off!
