After much surfing (no pun intended) I've spoken to a very very nice man from Lifesure insurance brokers who has given me a very competitive quote (£520, 7 years no claims, fully comp + business use & parked on street at night)

they were not the cheapest, but were the best in terms of cover and excess (£200)

They asked if I would mention them so here goes

Lifesure you have saved my bacon!........ Thank you!

        • insurance quote...the cheapest.

Adrian Flux was ok, but we have just insured our surf ssr-g 1996 3.0 litre with a company calld TET HAMILTON. It covers myself and partner fully comp at a cost of £413.95. I have sp30 partner has sp60. Needed a immobilser fitted cat2, but it was cheaper than any other car we've owned here the number 01275 856618. Let me know if they were any good for you cheers..... Thought i better add that we are aged 36 and 25. cheers

            • Try Admiral.com fellas.

I had a quote from Lifesure around £1200. Renewal from NU (via Dorset borkers = £1500). Admiral = £650.

              You MAY be surprised.

cheers for all the advise, phoned around all the companies and here's the result:

25 years old, 8 years no claims, totally clean licence and record.

Direct Line, tesco, Footman James all came out around £560

Adriun Flux came out cheapest at £525 but with an extra named driver only £25 extra for the year.

Just thought I'd wait for my renewal notice to come through and you guessed it....

Last year £609 full comp....this year nearly £700....

1 year extra of No Claims (8 yrs now) but 1 Speeding fine [SP30].....They do say however that they will beat quotes provided.

                        Here comes the Rant:

What the hell are they playing at....if you can match quotes then gives us those best prices in the first instance and not...well if thats what you've been given we will match it. I for 1 am certainly starting to phone round more as I want the best price on the first call and not on the 2nd or 3rd!!!!

And the joke of it now to start charging for Road Rage Cover!!

PS: Footman James Cover watch your excess..just been on website and £350
