Dont bother if you fancy a relaxing holiday though! It's pretty full on, and the mileage is high. On average, you're probably on the move 8 hours a day.
i know you have just got back but is it something you will be thinking about doing again or was it just a one off?
Definitely will do it again - though not til I've had a hol with the wife.
With respect, piloting something that weighs 2.5 tonnes on soft suspension and big tyres with less than optimum brakes down a hairpin filled 40km descent is a little more tiring than blasting down a col in a 4wd sports saloon!

Yeah just meant I like driving. I appreciate the level of prep that goes into journeys like that as read the book Sahara overland all 700 pages of how to prep for journeys like that so much stuff you would never think of or amazing ways to improvise. though it did say the landcrusier was the bench mark vehicle for this type of journey and said the surfs tend to overheat!
Everything was getting hot on some of the long climbs, even the troopie!
I have a fan assisted ATF cooler, which helped, but I still found we were limited to about 50mph on some of the long road climbs, heavily laden with 3 on board in mid 30's centigrade. I'd think about a bigger rad before going anywhere hotter!
