i wonder if Vince is keeping count of how many people are getting and then going to send out a prize at the end of the year for the winner with the most...
I got some questions for you's guys, thought about this a while back and then forgot it,
I aquired a while ago a couple of electric water pumps, problem is it a 24v pump (off a PSV) what i was thinking of is fixing it in the cooling system to aid the engine's water pump and maybe give a little better circulation! wired so it comes on after the thermostat has opened, when opperated on 24v they were used to pump coolant from the rear engine (bus) to the front heater/demister unit and to the overhead and floor passenger heaters, dont know the pumping volume figures but there pretty good, (had one running my fish pond filter's off two batterys till it got gummed up) So
1 is it possible to convert it to 12v without rewireing the armature,
2 if not, will it run half speed off 12v and would it draw tooo much power, (thinking that even at half revs it may pump quite well, could possible try that in a bucket of water),
3 maybe remove the pump bit and somehow fit it to a 12v motor,
4 if any of the above sounds viable where's the best place to stick it, obviously with the flow the same as the engines pump but ie:- top or bottom hose, heater hose? although i guess if you switch off the heater it aint pumping nowhere,
Any thought's / suggestions and do i get a bushy
