they do more then just clean the injectors in an ultasonic bath, they will replace the nozzle and test the spring tention and shim the springs to aquire pressure and proper spray pattern as well as replace the crush washer's.

my old Merc had a problem where it would sometimes struggle to start and be lumpy when it did....
then I realised it was always when parked nose up-hill.
hmm... turned out there was a leak on the fuel pipe to the injectors, and when pointed uphill, the fuel drained out, air got in, and it would appear you cant run a diesel engine on air alone...... solved by tightening the nut on the intectors!
anyway, what i'm saying is it could be a leak in a pipe allowing air into the system. and its starting fine upto 3 hours NOT because its still warm, but it hasnt had time to leak!!!!If you're gonna be a bear... be a Grizzly.

Maybe, but this is Britain, we do everything half arsed or get an immigrant to have a go at it.

Kit05, how did you check the pressure? A gauge of some sort or did you use your hand? BUSHWHACKER, for my next stupid question/s, how do i find this Diesel bob, is he a forum member or is he a company on the net? Also, how much are the rebuilt injectors? If the mountain wont come to mohammed..... smash the place up!!

Oh right, i thought for some reason you had checked compression already. Thats definatly something to check though, do a compression check and if something is amiss on any cylinder then get a leakdown test carried out so you can tell where your losing compression from. I'm not too familiar with diesel engines either. If the mountain wont come to mohammed..... smash the place up!!

I cant really understand how you would can have negative at the dipstick tube and positive at the valve cover breather, they should both be the same seeing as they're both linked through internal oil drain back pathways. I would ignore what your seeing from the breathers unless it's lots of smoke or excessive amounts of oil.If the mountain wont come to mohammed..... smash the place up!!
