Half way there Got the old bearing off at work last night, using some made up tooling and plenty of different sized bolts, worked well .
The 3rd Gen seems to be a bit different from the diagrams I have seen, it has 2 locking collars, gear (internal sensor) for the ABS and bearing all of which need to be drawn off the shaft.
Must say this isn't really a DIY job but as I got a quote of £241 + Vat off my local Toyo dealer I thought I may as well give it a go (the money tree in the back garden hasn't born any fruit yet)
Just waiting (scaffold tube in hand) for monday delivery day for new bearing
Will try and do some sort of write up when I finish.

SUCCESS job done, re-fitting the bearing, locking rings and ABS sensor gear was a doddle compaired to removal, especially when your tooled up (4 foot mild steel tubing with custom made ends, and 4lbs raw hide mallet)
Am all tooled up for this job now (removal and re-fitting), and will be doing a comprehensive (ish) write up when I get round to it, so will be able to help out (tool wise) should anyone else be unfortunate enough to damage their rears.

Came in showing 58000kms now added 8000 miles.
I dont think the rear bearings can be serviced (greased) they get oil splashed from the rear axle.
On removal my rear near side was pretty solid, but it looked like my outer seal was knacked, this was where all the gunk came from in the drum, need some more diff oil now, as I lost a bit when doing the job.
Dont know if its a bit of a weak spot, as I think any 4x4 axle deep in muddy water will suffer bearing problems. Going to have a look at the other 3 soon, just in case.
This started after the Easter weekend at Robin Hood & Langdale so it's been going on for a while.
No signs of the bearing totally going......just the increased noise prompted me into doing something...............and at £241 + vat at Toyo garage........................ .had to try myself.
