The ADD system is exactly the same as it was before, (shift on the fly, Hi, Low range via the stick, green light on dash) except there's now no vacuum to worry about. (which is nearly always the cause of 4wd select problems on Surfs)
Because I used the Lexus clocks, I took the green 4wd indicator from the Surf's clocks and glued it into the Lexus clocks into one of the unused indicators e.g. the ABS light.
All you do is keep the ADD wiring which is incorporated into the two multiplugs (one grey and the other is white) which are next to the Surf's ECU.
Unplug them and pull them through into the engine bay. Strip off all the black wrapping.
Unplug the wiper's plug and the ADD wiring plug, label them and take this loom over to the transmission/transfer case.
ADD wiring/plug...
Then you need plug everything in thats connected on and around the transfer case. This wiring is also incorporated into those two plugs explained above so plug it all in.
Now all you to do is chop off all the other wires that are not needed back to the two plugs. (keep the white/black stripe wire, this is an earth wire for the ADD.
Then tidy it all up and cover the wires with protective sleeving/insulating tape.
Another wire I kept is the one for the temp sensor on the atf pipe so that the orange AT/P light will still work on the dash when the atf gets hot or when the transfer lever is in neutral.
The Lexus ATF pipe needed a slight massaging to get it to screw into the adapter, but slowly and carefully it can be done. The brackets holding the pipes neede removing first, then I just swapped them around to re-secure the pipes to the engine.
