Head gasket come seperate because there are three thicknesses. You need to match the gasket to the one you have on the vehicle. They are coded with a cutout on the rear of gasket and/or possibly a letter stamped on them.

roughtrax only supply the thickest toyota OEM gasket which they say is all i need?

just getting my shopping list together and so far ive got:

          Head Gasket 1989 - onwards
Diesel head gasket set for fitting 2.4 cylinder head
          2.4 & 2.8cc Engine Cam Belt Kit
Radiator Cap (45mm) for Japanese fitment
          Thermostat Diesel
Water Pump 2L/3L 2.4/2.8 Diesel Water Pump

id rather order everything from the same place to save on shipping so can anyone comment on the head gasket from roughtrax?

and can anyone think of anything else i need to order?

i asked about gasket thickness, barry said they only supply that one as it gives best seal,ie it gets crushed/pushed down, only other bits i'd say is oil filter, then just fluids which are easier to pick up local, dont forget to give yr rad a good clean out too

                    thanks mate.
i gave it an oil and filter change not long ago so ill give that a miss.
i just fitted a new radiator on saturday there but ill flush the system through to get all the crap out.

and thanks for the comment on the head gasket.

i feel less nervous now about hitting the submit order button.

You may incur one snag, I'm replacing my LN130 head at the moment and purchased a full gasket set from the same supplier, it was missing both throttle body gaskets, both egr gaskets and stat gasket, it did however have gaskets in that I can't identify and don't need. Mistakes happen so I made my own. Or maybe they arn't considered part of the head set. May ring them if I get time.

well all my bits came today...with a FREE mousemat
hopefully my courier has collected the head from chewee and should be delivering it to my dads place at some point today also.

i did contact milners RE theyre complete gasket set at about £60 and the girl who got back to me (Sandra) said their complete gasket set included everything, even the head gasket. i should have probably just ordered the set from them but i went for the head set from roughtrax to save on delivery charges and possible delays.

hopefuly work commences in the am on saturday.

By using two people... Which you are going to need. Font forget to put the exhaust manifold on before refitting the head... It's nigh on impossible to put on afterwards.. Good luck
                                Non intercooled nothing.
