As for the 10" i was thinking about that. as long as the tyres have enough clearance in the arches when im off roading. would like to really push this thing through and get creative. stein has got some really good ideas though. im well impressed
do not go without the panhard rod, have you ever driven a monster truck,?they handle like a bag of shyte.badgers truck is et up the same as a monster truck, and he wonders why it has handling issues.the panhard rod is an important piece of the suspension geometry.dont leave home without one especially on a big lift.

thats the way take your time,do your homework, dont rush and do it right first time.

hmm been a while since i was told off . i know that you know what you are talking about. i would like it to handle somwhat, but that is last thing on my mind. i have always wanted a big huge bouncy truck that just explodes off road. something where you put the power down and the rear end dips, front end lifts slightly and the front axle bounces under the torque. i know. big kid.

Yeah in short. Similar to Interco's really.

Whatever you go for in a 35x17.50 will wear out quick.

hence why i trust your judgement. a couple of questions.

                1. are the shocks adjustable. are they coilovers or you going for a spring and duel damper set up

                2. are you going to weld the brackets that hold the trailing arms low down off the chassis. just asking cos im thinking about my ground clearance issues. i know to work effectively with minimal longitudenal movement they have to be almost parrallel to the ground. What are you're plans there?

not telling you off mate.just from experience of running a big high powered motor in a surf the axles tramp like a bitch unless they are fully located properly.

no the shocks wont be adjustable unless you want us to fab a ladder mount with loads of holes in it so you can unbolt the top mount and move the shock mounts up and down.

no the radius arm mounts will be welded in line with the chassis rails, your ground clearance issuse will be with your diff centres, that is the lowest point of your axles and if anything is gona give you clearance issuse thats where it will be.

in fact the ladder mount system would be a good idea coz after you have finished off road you could pull out the pin push the shock down the ladder and relocate it nearer the axle, that woul eliminate to much body roll on the road, and then when off road again just pull the pin and let the shock back up.giving maximum articulation.

i know about the diffs thats why i wanted huge tyres offroad. i was thinking of the ramp over angle. for example if you look at the moster trucks trailing arms they come righ from the centre high up and are a a fair angle, not parrallel with the floor. obviously mine is a much smaller truck so the angle is not suitable. the trail links would have to be almost parrallel which would mean welding the brackets for them underneath the chassis line. which would then make them a target for rocks and stuff when im dropping down on a steep angle, or climbing up and reaching the top of a climb where the centre of the truck then becomes the lowest point. if you get my meaning.

                        of am i being weird

no problem when and if we get the truck in we will cut everything off and sling the body and chassis from our four post ramp and work out the best geometry for the set up.

you are a star. there are a couple of bods up here who have surfs and toyota pickups that want some work done. i think they are waiting for me to do my truck first. so i'll definately be passing the word around if you want the work. it will take me a short while to save some money, with moving house recently due to work commitments and christmas coming up. wont be long though. will chat about engines sometime, wont be able to talk tomorrow, i'm training. just need to get the sus and wheels and arches sorted to get it all legal. you are a fair way away from me so how im going to get it there is something i have to think about as well. might drive it down and train it back. no point trailering it is there
