RIGHT MATE IVE HAD A WORD WITH NEIL AND WE HAVE COME UP WITH A GAME PLAN.if your still interested in this work being done.it will consist of.
          1. 8 x 18" procomp es9000s.@ £40 each.
          2. 20 x 25mm rosejoints @£20 each.
          3. 4 x 500mm springs custom made by scorpion racing @ £60 each.
          4. 1 x hilux solid axle @ £300.this will be overhauled with new brakes and seals. at extra cost so allow £100 for parts.
          5. custom made extra long s/s braided brake hoses £100.
          6. we have allowed £500 for construction material,for radius arms,radius arm brackets,shock hoops x 4,spring plates top and bottom x 8,panhard rods and bracketry,etc,etc.
          7. we would advise a twin steering damper set up which we can custom build for you if your gonna run 35" tyres offroad @£150.
          8. 1x custom built steering drop arm @ £100
as you can appreciate there is a lot of fab work on a job like this from cutting off the ifs and setting up front and rear suspension, bracketry e.t.c and re mounting it all with the coil sprung sas.our labour charge is £40 per hour
we cant really put a solid quote in for the amount of hours the job will take.so with that in mind we reckon on a total build cost from start to finish of around £3,500.including the above parts list. prices do not include vat.
i hope you find that pricing reasonable, please get in contact if you have any further questions.and obviously if you do go ahead,we would like to arrange a meeting with yourself before any work is carried out so we can talk about your requirements and expectations of the work carried out.

right now this does appear to be what i have in mind. this truck will have to be road leagal. are you thinking of putting antiroll on it. if so i would like it so i could remove a link so to take it off during offroading. i have some huge wheel arches in mind too.

any news on your engine conversions. i am thinking of doing that to this truck too. i have started to do my other ln 130 with the 2jzgte, but i would like a v8 in this one. im not worrying about fuel economy as this will not be my daily run around, although parking on top of keith volvo cop car would stop him bothering me all day!!

i wouldnt bother with the antiroll bars, you wouldnt need them with 8 x es9000s.it would remain road legal.

You didn't mention a prive for a engine conversion though. any ideas?

P.S. you have sold me on the suspension, just need to get a little bit of money together. shouldn't take long.

well as this will be a one off and its not going to be a daily runner i'm wondering about the 3uzfe 4.7 lexus v8. i wouldn't mind looking at a chevvy v8 but i think it is too heavy an engine. i do however have in my possesion a 2jzgte apparently tuned to 400hp and by the looks of the car it came out of which is still on my drive, it is a beast. i want something that will just be stupid to be honest. am i right in thinking that the lexus v8's are lightweight and very good power outputs.

Spoke to badger earlier on. The guy with the HUUGE truck on 4 link.

Stein he was at Monster mania?!

I was asking him about pitfalls etc. An he said all the tube needs to be CDS. Other steel tube isn't strong enough an will bend after a while.

Also, If the two upper links triangulate a bit in the middle of the truck it keeps the axle central an removes the need for a panhard rod.

It will need cross over steering which from what i understand can be awkward. Hydro steer isn't road legal however hyrdo assist is..

Hope that helps you out a bit Stein.

As far as i know theres only a handful of people who've tried 4 link.

Also, Cooler - you need to be 100% on how high you want to lift it. the higher it is the harder it is to drive. They bounce alot.

10" is too high just to fit 35" tall tyres. also a 35x17.50 would probably only work well in a pay and play enviroment.

If your going 10" i'd suggest checking out the Maxxis creepy crawler in 37x14.50. Nice an tall but wide still. Will look an probably perform better then 35x17.50

plus at around a grand for a set of 4 with 15"x10" wheels there a bargain price compared to what you'll pay for 35x17.50's

that is correct they are fairly light weight as far as v8s go and i believe they are 300 bhp out of the box, simple connection to a hilux transfer case.so would be the better engine to go for.tell you what give us a ring in the morning,on 01202 891958 we can discuss your intentions better that way.and give you better feedback.

hey rod.i know badger very well,he came to me to sort out his handling problem on that perticular vehicle.there is no such thing as a true four link set up,its has to be either three or five.i told him to add a panhard rod and bring the top links out to the end of the axles,he also has hydro assist which as you know doesnt help as there is no self centreing with that set up.

nice one, i was hoping to remove the panhard anyway cuts down the lateral movement then when you are bombing about offroad. i will be using the 35 x 17.50's just for the pose factor and running the machine about. i will have other sets off wheels. As for the 10" i was thinking about that. as long as the tyres have enough clearance in the arches when im off roading. would like to really push this thing through and get creative. stein has got some really good ideas though. im well impressed

i'll leave it up to you boys. you know what you are doing. as long as it looks good whilst its sitting there, and is able to blow most things away offroad im happy. it going to cost me loads of money for new tyres, difflocks, and other accesories anyway. if you are going to do something do it right innit!!! start with the suspension then move to the smaller stuff.
