yeah i know gwyn lewis, he lives a couple of miles away from me. i bought my KZN130 off him. i did mention to him about lifting my ln 130 but he didnt really seem too interested in it. hes more into the landrover scene (except he has a really beast of a landcruiser that he uses himself).

Only just found out about them myself!! There like Scorpion racing but without there heads up there own ar$e.
If they are the guys who do brake lines an you brought the truck off the guy im sure he should be able to sort you out!!

yeah i emailed stein and he said i could do the a frame setup. i dont think it will be good enough for the lift though. i did tell him exactly what i wanted but hasnt got back to me yet. i dont mind paying for someone to do all this work. as i said, hopefully it will be a one off so its not going to be cheap. still havent found someone to do the work or of any other companies other than trail gear that can do link suspension. they only have rear link anyway.Completely bitten by the off road bug, and what better vehicle to do it in!

this is a rather nice piece of kit and he has really detailed writeups and pics of it all. i want my truck to sit slightly higher, but NO leafs!

SORRY MATE,now lets have a chat.why do you not think that the four link set up with a frame will be no good with a big lift.????the only problem i can see is the relocation of the fuel tank and the prop shaft.but they can be overcome, and we can do all the work for you no problem.Last edited by surfenstein; 6 November 2008, 19:05.www.overfab.uk

Well first i might be talking right out of my a**e! but i see landrovers all jacked up and they usually only get a 2-3-" lift on them. I want mine to stand out. If you think that it would work, then i believe you as you know a lot more than mine. i just thought that an a frame is relatively short so lifting the vehicle high would mean the axle coming forward far too much. i know they work on articulation and things. and realy extreme landrovers with their dislocation cone setup are unrivaled.
If you decide that the a frame setup is good for the back, what would you suggest for the front then?
P.S. I'm the one thats full of ideas, it's your experience and knowledge i need to tell me that they can/cant be done.Completely bitten by the off road bug, and what better vehicle to do it in!

no problem mate, first off we need to decide what lift we are looking at.then we can design a suspension set up around that.you can reverse the a frame so that it sits at the back of the rear axle where the spare would sit first off that would be pretty trick and secondlyit wouldnt get in the way of anything but would still work.and would also give you more stability on road.the rear radius arms would be cut out and we could use cranked land rover ones.that would set the axle back up central, then fab a panhard rod to match lift and if you wanted a dis connect system we can fab a spring inside a spring or cones, its up to you. that too,the only reason we would use land rover suspension components is because they are cheap and readily available,as after market parts.the front set up would have to be a solid front axle set up.we are going to be doin one of these for a forum member soon, but we can also coil spring the front end to.and use the same set up as the rear.giving masses of articulation, coupled with shock hoops and long es 9000s.have i sold it yet.actually forget the rear a frame and go with a three link set upLast edited by surfenstein; 6 November 2008, 19:23.www.overfab.uk

um i think that you are selling it rather well. this vehicle will be used offroad so i think the axles will articulate. i want it to look good so i think we have taken care of that too. basically with the lift height. i would like it lifted so that the top of a 35" tyre will be just below the bottom of the side step. about 8-10". if i can do that. i wont be bodylifting it, so the clearance will be getting the chassis and transfer box away from the ground as far as possible.
I dont mind moving the fuel tank to the back of the vehicle so as to get the a frame where it needs to be. but whatever you think. do you think i can get the height with the a frame then?Completely bitten by the off road bug, and what better vehicle to do it in!

so you want a maximum of 10" lift yea that can be done, but we will leave the a frame out and go for a double shock set up even triple shock set up either side.with some fabricated radius arms and panhard rods, front and rear.this will be a big job not easy and not quick did you want an sas done as well.?www.overfab.uk

so how ould the suspension work without the a frame. i take it you'll have two link running parrallel on either side with panhard rod stabilising. is it not possible to use you're a frame idea but bring the two top radius arms into the centre of the axle forming an extended a frame like a moster truck? or am i being sillyCompletely bitten by the off road bug, and what better vehicle to do it in!

well you know what you are doing bud. any ideas on how much something like this will run me then. Im not rushed for the truck at the moment as i have my 3.0 for pottering about in.Completely bitten by the off road bug, and what better vehicle to do it in!

well the front sas swap with coil springs will be around £1000 to £1500 depending on if you supply axle or not.and i would say about £1000 for the rear conversion.theres a lot of work involving the props and braking system too.could be cheaper could be dearer,we charge £40 an hour labour and the parts alone depending on what you go for in the end will be a big part of that.its not an easy job quite labour intensive, but i wouldnt expect much change from three grand.to be honest.if you are serious about doing this best thing to do would be to ring neil as he will be doing most of the fab work get a price for material, and he will make a list of bits needed and give you a better idea of prices.www.overfab.uk
