    I meant no disrespect in my comments and admire what you are trying to achieve, but it seemed that the type of vehicle your doing it for was a bit pointless due to the possible punishment it might have to take, but I suppose I was baseing this on my surf which has been backed into by a van at the front and the clio in the rear, both times the bumpers saved the actual body work from any serious damage at the same time I also found out the bumpers were very thick steel and practically rust free

      No offense taken chap...you have a perfectly reasonable and sensible point of view. If mine was trashed like that I'd be selling lots of spares on here ;-)

        Actually after a new cylinder head and other bits fitted its running like a rolls royce now, looks a bit like a shed now from the immaculate vehicle I bought 6 years ago but it has to earn its keep lugging my tools around, has been written off when the van reversed into me but bought back repaired with second hand bits and the bumper straightened and made a few bob at the same time, one of the best vehicle "investments" I have ever made. Full story 1n 3ltr section.
