As I said, depends on how far you are wanting to go. To fit the IC you're going to want airflow over it, so you need to decide on where to mount and the possibility of fitting a bonnet scoop to scoop air into it.
I never fitted an EGT gauge to the 2.4 I had. But will be doing this to my 3.0 before fitting an IC. I've fitted a boost gauge before turning my boost up, but the boost is already at 10-11psi so not sure if a previous owner did it already or what. So best to know what you are at before fiddling.
Lastly, I had a large amount of turbo lag on the 2.4. I could stamp on the throttle and probably count to 5 before I had full boost.
I also worked out whilst driving through france on the A type roads averaging 50mph that MPG was around 27. This is at best and was usually lower.
