Intercooler, more boost, remapped ECU, higher fuel bill... more heat into an already inadequate cooling system, so bigger radiator, better fans...
Just buy a 3.0 and have done with it!
By the way, I very much doubt the ECU will be remappable. It's pretty ancient technology. If you're going to do it properly, you'll probably want a configurable gearbox ECU too for 'harder' changes or all you're gonna do is heat up the torque converter more.
In short, you're not going to get worthwhile increases without spending. Its not renowned for being a tuneable engine.Cutting steps in the roof of the world
