I am 100% in agreement with Lurch and surfenstein.
I am starting to make my visits short because of all the recent comments which will put new members off, with the reply being it's humour, sorry most of it hasn't been. Worse of all I've found myself starting to do it, the amount of times I've typed a reply and on my better judgement not posted it.

Maybe I'm remembering it all with rose tinted glass, but I can remember spending nights on here, laughing at others going ons, getting loads of help, which otherwise I would have had to sell the surf 4 years ago due to lack of funds.

Please bring back what I remember.

The trouble is people move on , you don't see tony here much now and logey sticks his head in occasionally....... you cannot blame the old hands when the newbies cannot take a joke , then you have smart arses that when you try and help they throw it in you face . i for one come in have a read make a few jokes try and help then bugger of due to the fact that no one is about to banter with .

I know how folk used to be on here, I spent months reading the forum when I first joined. It was much the same as it is just now, only the usernames and gripes were different.

I even recall talk of someone who hated amateurs working on their own brakes etc.. But as he wasn't a newbie, the oldies didn't jump down his throat every time he spoke.

I dont come here as much as I used to because it bores the shit out of me these days. I notice that a lot of the 'old guard' dont bother either. Maybe its for the same reason, maybe it's because they've moved on and have new hobbies.

'Vatchman' has his rubber gimp suit manufacturing business, 'Woodzie' has his Greenpower' methane powered leccy generating business, Mudsurfer breeds dogs, Tony's in the building game, Rod's on the drag-queen circuit and Matt F... well... gender reassignment takes it out of you... - the list goes on.

I too can remember there being 80 or 90 people on at 1am all deep in some mental discussion about ARBs and whether you'd roll over if you had a spare tyre on the roof - people got a roasting and shrugged it off. Nowadays, everyone seems to block Matt F's posts...

You daren't have an argument these days for fear of someone getting all teary-eyed and blubbing, and a load of others then offering hugs and joining in the indignation.
