  • I Need a tractor......

We keep horses on a Ten acre field and the weeds are taking over.
The surf will drag a harrow up & down all day but now I need to top the grass and weeds while its still at waist height.

been in E-bay for a fortnight, seen (I think) the adverts in tractor/machinery mags

looking for small (but not really a compact) fields too big
nothing too shiny, for the amount of work it needs to do each year,

was hoping to spend under 1200 for both tractor and flail/topper

    any advice gratefully received

have a look in some of the local papers for any farm sales as you will be able to get something cheap

Not seeing anything like that, you refer to the dispersals I think, and yes that was first thought actually.

Theres a good few on sale in your neck of the woods, but the haulage kills any bargains @1.50 a mile

We have got 2 ponies in a 4 acre field. Can't justify buying one for our little patch but something like this might be of use to you.

        Hope it helps matey.

Tony and Linda hired a trailor and took a small fergie back to Basingstoke from here.

something to think about, and I will thanks,
as an aside I was thinking of offering the same service locally with so many horses here.

local chap wants 100 quid to knock down 10 Acres of pasture
which got me thinking in the first place

My next thought was fetching it myself,
did it fit OK and crucially do the flat trailers come with loading ramps though

you should be able to hire a transporter trailor with the ramps easy enough.
If you see a tractor down this way and want me to go have a look and try it out then let me know and i look it over for you

your not the only one, I have been browsing for a couple of weeks to get an idea on average cost for something similar and i have been through every tractor on ebay but haven't seen that one!

If we haven't seen it the chances are many others have not so you should get it cheep,

                            Good luck
If it can be broken it can be fixed
