Originally posted by ShabWell, didn't get the job done tonight as I ran out of light. I couldn't see well enough to identify the wire colours with certainty, but have worked out where alll the wires connect to thanks to Dave J [big round of applause].
I will pickup where I left off tomorrow as I've taken the day off...so, the "it's a load of bollicks - is it feck" debate can rumble on for another day...
Cheers,
Shab.

Not far off...I had it fitted by this afternoon, but then I had to go and pick my wife up drop her off then pick mother-in-law up and drop her off by which time it was barbie time then off to Morrisons and then finally I went out to do a bit of serious testing...
So, here we go...
New 0-60 time = a shade over 13 seconds
New 1 in 7 hill time 36 seconds
If I had to use one word to describe the post Bobbox effect it would be more responsive [OK, thats two]. It really is a grin bringer.
Now I know it's been pointed out, quite justifiably, that he would say it's great, he's just shelled out the best part of 300 notes on it...So all I can say is that I wouldn't do that, and that really is that.
Back to the testing, it was very warm [24C] when I conducted the tests, which was about 7 degrees warmer than the original ones, so I think those times could be improved upon.
Well there we have it, untill someone dyno tests a Bobbox, it's still all a matter of opinion...
Cheers,

It does indeed. I imagine it has an even more noticeable effect on a 2.4's, from what I gather from posts they seem a bit slugish...
BTW Dave, I really appreciated the assistance, quite honestly I couldn't have done it without your help.
Thanks.Carpe Biscalorum...

I hope you were using a hands free stopwatch when you conducted your tests!

I can't remember who asked about MPG but I will brim the tank sometime this weekend and post the results as soon as poss.
On a different note, for all you 2.4 owners who are maybe thinking about getting a Bobbox, I would think twice fi you haven't had tour head done. I've noticed a big difference in the time the engine takes to warm up. Obviously with the extra perfomance comes extra heat [although the running temp has remaind the same]. Just something to bear in mind...
I intend fitting a perfomance filter if poss, so does anyone know if K&N do one?
Thanks,
Shab.Carpe Biscalorum...

I think k&n do do a replacement filter element (which may be better with all this talk of hot air in the engine bay). The alternative is to do what i did and make you own induction kit!!!
Whatever you do, DO NOT GO THROUGH WATER WITH IT!! as you will suck up plenty of water.

I took mine off and its sat in the garage if you want it, it fits the 3.0 beautifully, i only took it off cos the wooshing noise was doing my missus's head in, and i wanted to go fast through big puddles without worrying. I'm sure with a bit of extra ducting, there'd be lots of cold air going to it though!!
It was astonishing just how much air the engine seems to suck in, far more than my 2.5 turbo Skyline did i would say!!
If you wanna try it, i'm not too far from you, come over and have a go, it'll take u 5 mins to fit it.
the offers there.
MartJust trying to raise my postcount!

Good reports then eh! With regard to the warming up quicker thats fine as long as it dont go any hight than it normaly does (i'm assuming my head hase'nt been replaced cos i got no paperwork with the truck to say it has and as that would be a selling point!!!) So before i do any thing to boost the power of my 2.4 i would like to mod the viscious fan so i can switch it on manually, can this be done?, I'll have a search on that one, I was following the Vagrant's post on three way switching but his is a 1st gen petrol so mine'll be different i expect, Also i would like to vent the hood and if possible with fan assistance. got two roof vents that might do if i can colour match em (or get em chromed,) Need to cool her down as much as poss.Too young to die and too old to give a toss
