If it doesn't pass the test, it doesn't get any of my hard-earned wedge.

And I'm with legendgamesmaster on the subject of homeopathy - it doesn't pass any sort of statistcally meaningful test, so yes, it's bollox.

Well Im looking forward to the results, if it works as well as a power commander does (on a bike) It could be worth the outlay.
however, the extra washer I nailed behind the turbo thingy (now 3) has really helped

So how does a Placebo work then....?...

A solution that would fail all tests but quite clearly is know effective...?

A placebo doesn't work. It doesn't do anything. That's the point.
If you make someone *think* there is a difference, or possible
benefit, they will usually see said benefit.

(Development costs dont effect an entire production run, or we'd all be paying millions for our TV's)

I can only see this device changing the fuelling, as Tony seems to confirm. I suspect if he's the clever type, then it will change the fuelling based on the rate of change of the TPS rather than just the position, otherwise you *would* just dump more fuel in all of the time, but this to me doesn't sound like a difficult job, so it's hard to understand the mysticism behind it. It's gonna be a simple device.

I would guess that the ECU would sense the greater amount of fuel and match that with air? Would this not require an increase of boost pressure then? And a way of expelling the increased volume of gasses more efficiently? As Tony says, there are lots of links in this particular chain.

Anyway, if someone is going to produce some sort of hard fast objective results (rather than 'it's much better!'), that would be great, and would shut this geek up for a while!

More likely he's used a d-type connector for convenience rather than to follow any sort of 'serial port' protocol. I doubt very much that you could directly connect the TPS and Fuel Pump Solenoid directly to RS232?

Sooo, it's probably not a com-port. I use 9 3ay D-types to connect the wing servoss to the fuselage on model planes because they're convenient and reliable.

It seems to me its a bit like God, if you believe you will find reasons to justify it, if you don't then you will find reasons not to. Personally I would be mighty embarresed to admit to the world I'd just done £200 on a box of snakeoil. My personal view is that they can work, its just sorting the wheat from the chaff. As for the cost, yiou pays t#your money and takes your choice (or not) as TonyN says you are not paying for the hardware as much as the knowledge, otherwise how would bill gates make his billions flogging 1p CDs or now worthless downloads.

My Wife recently had a commission to do a job which they told her was very difficult and usually took the 3-4 days. She did it in 4 hours....why? cos she knew more than them, who would then disagree that she should be paid more than 4 hours money?

Well, didn't get the job done tonight as I ran out of light. I couldn't see well enough to identify the wire colours with certainty, but have worked out where alll the wires connect to thanks to Dave J [big round of applause].

I will pickup where I left off tomorrow as I've taken the day off...so, the "it's a load of bollicks - is it feck" debate can rumble on for another day...

                            Cheers,
