thanks Tony, however just to update Marsh Toyota plymouth have just been on again, after taking advice they have refered me to UK customer services 01737 367600, spoke to a lady there who was charming, she has taken all my details, chassis no's etc and has raised a case, that has been emailed off to substanciate claim/no claim and they should be back to me in 3-5 working days to confirm if my truck is elegable for the recall and if so where and when to take it to be done, I was also told by Marsh that if you motor has to go in because of a recall there is often a 'sweetener' for your hastle.
Have to say Toyota so far have been great -hope they dont end up telling me something I don't want to hear!!!!!!!!!!!!!
However if anyone does have a copy of the recall notice to substanciate our claim.....................
just called myself, and as above very helpful i await to hear back from them
Hi All
just got back from hols and found this in my inbox...
Dear Mr Clark
Thank you for you recent telephone call.
I have investigated this matter with our European Head Office who have advised that they are trying to implement a course of action which means that your car can have this recall carried out in this country.
As this is unusual this may take some time to arrange. I will update you as soon I receive any further information.
I have also left a message on your telephone answer machine.
Thank you
Jane
Hey Koi is the bubbly OK or should we try for a case of beers?? (or vino!)

Hi All
just a quickie over to Malta, Sooooooo many twin cab pickups over there and strangely lots of them petrol
I'm sure there would be one hell of a market for surfs esp diesels
missed my truck been driving a Kia rollerskate, not a lot of fun on those ?roads?
got back to find I got a leak on (i think) the banjo washers on the power steering pump...fun to drive with no PS, not.
will investigate tomorrow, still back in the fold, sharpening my little back stabbing dagger, wit, scarcasm, etc
Glad to see you missed me Vince

Just been on the phone to my local Toyota dealer and they are saying that the recall does not cover the surfs for definate, but i think i will still wait till i hear from Toyota Japan or if anyone else has any luck
Hi All
Just in case any of you missed it read post 26 in this thread, that is what has led to me getting a case number and recognition that the motor will be fixed
Me now happy bunny now they have put in writing that this recall will be done for me - all they have got to do now is to set up the system and call them in, I presume first with a case ref = first done
Get in line Guys & Girls!!! - Phone them, get your ref no before Toyota decide this is costing them too much dough
