Recall notice
Hi all
I've been following this thread for a while now and I've been in touch with Toyota europe aswell and this is the reply I had
Mr. S. Strickland
United Kingdom
Ref. 1013658
Brussels 27 April 2006
Dear Mr. Strickland
Thank you very much for your enquiry of 25 April 2006, concerning your
Hilux.
We have verified with Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan and your vehicle is
subject
to the Hilux Steering Gear Relay Rod Recall campaign.
At this moment Toyota Motor Corporation Japan's Technical Dept. is busy
setting up
a manual for Toyota Great Britain's Technicians on how to fix your vehicle,
as this is
not a European Spec. vehicle.
This may take a while, and we apologise for all the inconvenience this may
cause
you.
May we kindly ask you to send us your full contact details (address, phone
number)
and the Toyota Center where you will have your car inspected.
Toyota (GB) Plc the official distributor for all TOYOTA products in United
Kingdom
will be responsible for contacting you as soon as this manual will be made
available
and that technicians will be ready to perform the recall on your vehicle.
We thank you for your patience and understanding.
Yours sincerely,
Maureen Sakurai
Customer Relations Specialist
Customer Relations Department

I was thinking that perhaps some of you guys might be able to teach the guys at our Toyota (GB) "stealerships" how to do it as it seems that they need a manual now!Last edited by sticks; 27 April 2006, 19:47.

dont knock it, parts of it will/could probably read
1 put free diesel in tank
2 valet vehicle
3 put bottle(s) of wine/champers on drivers seat
4 provide curtesy car
5 perform safety check/inspection and report
bet you wouldn't get that from many other manufacturers .....I know renault try to hide their probs and dont put their hands up to them even when identified and merceedes dont give a curtesy car or anything for your troubles
Toyota are a bit slow thoughDid I mention I have a BLUE one
