Give us some more info - like how long have you had it, history, have you done all the usually servicing type thingys (oil, filters, etc), does it smoke, is the kick down working etc etc etc

"kick down" is the autobox dropping down a cog when you give it some toe dude. If you drive it steady all the time its a phenonemon you are unlikley to encounter. Try booting it at 30 on the flat and you will find it drops a cog. If it don't there's summat rong wivit.
Never expect a 2.4 to rip the tarmack up either m8. Its all down to what u r used to. I have fast cars to go fast and the surf for "alternative fun"
Al.I used to have a surf me!

I have the same issue... Seriously slow up hill.
The kick down works well but on an incline where everybody is overtaking me I can only go less than half the speed limit!
Taking it to the garage to get them to clean out the throttle body and run it on pure injector cleaner for 20mins.
I service it regularly and look after everything but it's always done this and after a weeks worth of camping and travelling thru the blue mountains I'm over the lack of speed going up hills!!!!!4yrs and 2 surfs later...

I'll let you know shock, he told me but I can't remember the name, said it was their own brand though...
However - ive now realised I've used about 1.5l of coolant after my 13hr drive home on Monday so I may have a blown head gasket.
No milky oil and no crud in my coolant so not sure...4yrs and 2 surfs later...

Check for leaks from hose unions first.
Do you have the rear cab heater ?
Could be leaking from there.
The water pump has a tell tale hole, check for water from underneath the crank pulley.
With the engine just getting warm see if you have frothy bubbles at the radiator cap.
But to be sure get a check done for combustion gases in the coolant.
It very rarely is the head gasket.

Tashtego, really? All of them are like that!?!?! What about when they were new, Do you think they could have done it then? If so then it's because something is wrong, the guy at Midas told me it is my clogged up throttle body so I'll start there.
Shock, drove to work and back (20k's total) and my coolant level in the overflow was at the full mark, left it overnight and the overflow still has coolant in it but the radiator took about 700ml :/4yrs and 2 surfs later...
