    1. He can pick the mother-in-law up (she probably won't even notice it's not you!)

    2. You can be driven back from the pub in your own vehicle

    3. He can help with the weekly shop (just send him and your partner)

    4. Promotional prospects at work would pick up once your boss saw you being let out by the Chauffeur

Another inch of head room, longer seatbelts and the rear door design should be changed so that it doesn't close onto the rear mudguard(lost count of the times I have been covered in dirt which has been trapped in between whilst leaning in to strap the little 'un in to her car seat).

The driver - I only get to play once a fortnight (I drive it to work so she gets a decent run) or when the caravan needs towing .....

But not this weekend - on the plain tomorrow !

Life is too important to take seriously !

              - indicators stalk, so it's on European side
              - engine changed to 3 litre D4-D, much heavier Land Cruisers get 32-35 mpg out of them, so I'd imagine high 30ies for Surf...
              - better sound insulation

                    Not much !!

                    I would go for:

A cocktail cabinet in the back..
A 12v plug in the trunk
                    TV,s in the seat backs
                    GPS already installed

                    Oh yes ..
The fold down tail gate (2nd gen.) is irritating..
The clock is invisible.. (only discovered it after three months motering)..
The rear seat is uncomfortable for pax..
A bigger fuel tank/better fuel consumption..
A rear wiper blade that doesent keep having to be replaced..
Wheels that dont keep having to be balanced..
                    Longer oil change intervals..

Apart from that (all of which I am happy to live with) I'm a happy bunny.

The only thing I would like standard is to be able to up the windows without the #$@ing key
Other than the dodgy clock position I rekon it is one of the best 4wds about
Mpg is always going to suck with a 2-ton garden shed on wheels, ditto for any sort of performance or handling.
Comfort.....go get a Jag....oooops, Mpg sucks there too
When I got mine it was pretty stock and I fell in love instantly.

What's happened to all you guys...sounds to me like the grin is disappearing!

I've had quite a number of cars since I've been driving and I've never found one that I've been totally happy with.

The Surf on the other hand is a different proposition. For the first time I've found a car that I'm really happy to spend hours lavishing attention on, and I don't just mean a quick wash and polish. I'm really getting to know the car inside and out. And driving is a sheer pleasure.

Come on guys let's hear some much more positive stuff!
