hi rob i had to change the drivers door handle it took about 20 mins once you get the door panel off you only need to peel a small part of the plastic back.you need a 10mm socket and ext bar to be able to get to the nuts inside and a screw driver to lever the door catch rods out of their plastic gromit things and to prise off the circlip which holds the key barrel in place.once you get the panel off you can see what needs to come off its a piece of cake really
      hope this helps you

rear bumber is chrome but has been painted black... the paint is flaking off and needs re spraying properly with primer etc. all I want is a chrome bumper to match the front. if anyone wants to do a swap....
rear wiper blad... its knackered.. needs a new one.
oh, and more cubby holes.. theres a definite lack of them on the surf. ( I had more in my MR2)
Id change it to a 3.0L as well but i couldnt afford the insurance.
oh... yes that rear numberplate, ive got a british sized thing in a jap sized hole... looks bad.. if anyone can tell me where to get a jap sized plate made up would be much appreciated.
so far the front speakers are crossed off the list... sounds great now.. and the rear number plate is on order...
guess i dont have much to complain about now hey.

                  nope,

The clock is shy, it likes to hide behind the wiper selector arm, and the spokes of the steering wheel !

why?....where is the third gen clock? can't be somewhere logical where you could actually see it! Don't get me wrong, I love Toyotas and I especially love my truck, but I can't believe it took them nearly twenty years to figure out that you couldn't see the clock!!

                                Nothing.......yet.
It's too sensitive. The brakes work fine generally, but if I need to brake sharply for whatever reason, the ABS kicks in and the truck takes too long to come to a stop, and makes no difference what size/tread tyres the truck has fitted.
Yes I know how ABS works and why vehicles have it, but sometimes, on a 2001 3rd gen it's bluddie dangerous! (Have a read on Yotatech, there's a number of owners that share my views.)
The brakes on my old 2nd gen were much better.
