  • The BIG Meet and Greet Camp Out

    Hi All

I'm thinking of organising a big meet and greet campout for the weekend of the 30 April. Its a bankholiday weekend.

I've found a couple of possible venues near to Salisbury Plain and would OBVIOUSLY run a few tours over the tank ranges and down throught the test valley.

I would like you lot to to come down and play and it would be great to get a large Surf gathering round a campfire.

This date is not set in stone and the reason its April is to try and get some mud on the trucks before it all dries up (those who have been up there with me in the summer will agree that its VERY dusty eh Bobafatass!).

Can I have a show of hands? C'mon lets make this the biggest forum meet yet!!!

    Dan

PS None of the area is difficult terrain or scratchy for those with shiney paintwork. But I know where there is some

If I bring the Bullet........... might give the 4-runner an outing, or might be really daring and bring both!!

Ive got to consult er indoors but I would love to come along, however like Marky I bought my surf to tow my caravan so I would like to camp in luxury, also I like my truck shiny with no mud inside unlike the pictures of yours, is this possible. I would like to put it through its paces otherwise though.

Most of Salisbury plain can be done, without filling your truck with mud (er ish) And the bits that are really muddy, can be bypassed. Theres lots of graded stone roads that can be used.

If anyone wants to bring caravans then I'll check the campsite is suitable (would have thought so.)

Me and Lottie should be game for this if we don't find the Snoop-de-ville is allergic to Salisbury mud on the 13th of this month! (Novice allert!)
Real trucks don't have spark plugs

Dont worry youve got a good group of people down their who will look after you, The only thing to watch out for is large water pools as the rear drums may fill up & your rear brakes then become a little vague a bit scary when towing but easy to rectify ( crate of beer for the lads) SO ENJOY IT.

Hehe - you'll be lucky to find any large pools of water at the end of April on the plains!!!

The plains is fine, you can do it all on road tyres and come home fairly clean if you want, or you can decide to drive off the track into muddy puddles, and more tricky stuff if you choose. Noone would have any problem, and would be able to keep their surf fairly clean if they wanted to.

This is a laning trip, not an off road site, so dont worry too much.

They've just regraded the "transit routes". Lots of dog walkers take their cars up there.

I'd like to see and escort in the mud though! Something to practise my recovery techniques on!
