Bugger, just realised that it will clash with my annual visit to The Pink Pimms Party. So I will not be about for the whole weekend as I will be in Oxford Sunday morning to drink a dustbin full of Pimms No1, eat dodgy BBQ food and set up an airial runway, all whilst wearing pink!
I'll see you all Friday and Saturday, but May 1st belongs to Pimms!
Definitely interested but can not confirm yet. maybe that I will have to just turn up on the day and wing it.
Tow ropes at the ready though please as this will only be my second time off road, the first being Beaulieu 4x4 show in a Vitara.
sorry danno your party clashes with the Langdale weekend sorry booked and going missed out last year.
maybe if you change the weekend you may get more as i know a few of the langdale northern posse would come too as they have expressed interest in coming south for a weekend with the Southern posse

Would love to have some of the northerners down, but Me and Linda are pretty busy around this time. Lets see how this one goes then maybe another in September/October. I'm trying to find a balance between wet enough for mud, but not too wet for camping.
Is there an option to turn up on the day. We only have to pop down from Bristol. Used to do a lot of green laning on two wheels, so wouldn't mind a chance to take the Surf across the Plains. I will avoid any wrecking routes though!!
Cheers

Sure - its not a problem, we'd just like an indication of who's likely to come as we have to plan routes etc, also you may need to book the camping, but Danno should have more info on that in the next few days.
It will be great to see you even if it is a last minute thing!!
facing a mechenical dilema. view the thread 'when is a 4x4 not a 4x4'. that may present me some problems.
what does everyone do for insurance. mine does not cover me for rallies and stuff and i would bet that if i rang them and said i was on my roof on salisbury plain, they would laugh..........or should i not care!

I'm with A-Plan. I checked with them and I'm covered as long as I'm not racing or competing against the clock. This covers greenlanes, and off road sites too. I think its worth you ringing them to find out.
Come in 2WD - it will still be fun and we'll tow you out if you get stuck anywhere!!!

If you on a legal Byway or RUPP, its still a public highway, so you're covered.
At an offroad site could be tricky, Linda's insurance said OK, as long as your not competing or being paid, as it not technically any difference from rolling it on your driveway being silly, or at devils pit being even sillier.
