    Hmmm.........

I didn't see one bog standard vehicle in any of the pics/videos! A few on their sides. a lot stuck in mud, is there an easier area I wonder?

I kinda want to go..... but not to pick up the repair bill!

yeh,the lower sections of the main site & if its dry in the weeks leading up to it you can cover most o the main site if you pick your way through
So it looks like there will be some fun available. Plus there might be 100 or so vehicles htere.

      Does sound like fun.

Yeah, think there's somethin for everyone, sure if seen standard vehicles in pictures ,it's on a farm that also does plant hire, so plenty of recovery vehicles !!!!

Think Scotty from this forums been before so he'll know the score.

Dave,i'm going to see how i get on in the Argyll Forest then decide if i'm going to attend this one.
Just thought Drumclog may also appeal to those south of the border since it's a guaranteed a big turn out and people tend to travel from everywhere.

If I'm free that weekend I may just go for the camp and the craic. It'll be the wild west all over again............. a small encampment of Surfs corralled against the LR masses! As you say seems a wee wander around the site in the surf to watch the nutters maybe in order!

Aye, I may take the trip too, if I can justify two trips in the one month.

            Its a definite possibility.

I posted a message on the Difflock site here's the reply from DD..................

              something for everyone.

Someone bringing the family motor can have as much fun as someone in a full prepped challenge motor.

There's plenty for the novice and the expert alike. It's pretty obvious where to go (or, rather, where NOT to go) if you bring a shiny motor.

It's private land, so they don't have to be road-legal but that then means the 'prison rough' is out of the equation. Prison Rough being another area of 'clog requiring a 5 minute drive along a road. However, no need to worry, the main clog site is huuuge enough not to bother with that

OK I'll be there for the two days. Still wanting to keep the off roading simple but I'll enjoy watching the serious folk!

Will be bringing cooker, beer, gin and a few drams. I've a huge number of tents in the loft if other surfers want a lend of one.

I'll be there, though I'll need somewhere to camp/stay for Friday and Saturday nights, any assistance in finding somewhere would be great. I'll be there for the Saturday and Sunday, with the long drive home.

Nik, there's free camping at the site as far as i know, so no problems there. Should be closer to home than Argyll!!!!!!

Aye does look easier to get too, and back from.

I'm really looking forward to it. Still have taken the MT off yet, sheer laziness.

Some info from the Difflock forum who are hosting the visit.

"I have confirmed Drumclog #7 for the 28th and 29th of April 2007.

So no excuses if you have always wanted to come along to drumclog but ,somehow never made it yet get your days off booked.

Drumclog is by far one of the best play sites in the UK,Situated south of Glasgow (nearest town is Strathaven)it has 1500 acres of land to offroad on and can be as difficult or as easy to drive around as you choose it to be.

It has however been nicknamed drumbog by sloss with good reason, lots of thick deep gloopy mud to get stuck in,perfect chance to get some winch practise in.

The event is always very popular with last Aprils event seeing 108 offroad vehicles onsite over the weekend and over 80 vehicles at the September event, even with this amount of vehicles we could still offroad for hours without seeing anyone else, for this reason it is highly recommended that you travel around the site in groups of atleast 2 vehicles.
Along with the offroading the socialising has become a huge part of the event.People travel from all over the uk and northern Ireland every year to get to drumclog, and not once have i heard of anyone saying they didn't enjoy it.

The event costs £20 per offroad vehicle per day,if you intend to arrive on the Friday there is the option of paying for a half days play,so thats a maximum of £50 for a whole weekend, camping is allowed and is completely free, plenty room for caravans/motorhomes too.
Children and dogs are more than welcome, children must be well supervised and reminded that offroaders are roaming all over, the drivers are not looking out for young kids running in their paths.
Dogs must be kept under control and if nesecsary on a lead because there is sheep and cows freely roaming the site.

You will need to bring EVERYTHING with you, drumclog is in the middle of nowehere and the only facilities are a couple of porta loos which are usually pretty well kept.

There are shops and a fuel station in Strathaven which is an easy drive from Drumclog.

                              .............................. .............................. .............................. ...............

The drumclog challenge is going ahead, the fee for entering will be a donation (minimum of £2) which will all go to Macmillian.
The idea is a punch event suitable for everyone whether winched up or not.

Details are not yet finalised but Allan is going down 2 weeks before the event to set it all up.

The event will run from 1pm on the saturday with finishing time still to be finalised, you won't have to spend all day running the event,if you want to just grab a few punches and then go play thats up to yourself.

Prizes will be given for various categories so if you guys have anything to donate could you get in touch via pm or email and let me know what you have.We are looking for both serious prizes and funny prizes.

                              Cheers

                              Tracey

More details as i get them from those organising it. "
