ok - taking offers on the final two places in the static van at Whitby.

Pops paid for these £100 for two people from 9th to 14th. At this point ANY sensible offers will be considered for the accomodation as Pops is too ill to make the trip.

DOES THE POPE WEAR A FUNNY HATIf you only do it once you got to go to LANGDALE, its a scream (especialy some of the INCLINES you radio in to tell em where you are and then get 3 mins to decend before they start looking for you).

No pictures of the "quest" yet.

I did take some...but they're far too big to put on here...we were hoping to use them in a magazine feature.
The weekend was a disaster for me with everything possible going pearshaped in the week running up to langdale.
Eventually turned up on the Friday ..full of cold & with about 2hrs sleep in the previous 2 days.
Set off for RHB on the Sat & it looked like a fun place, but I never made it out of the carpark as an electrical gremlin hit my 4wd.
Spent all morning at a garage trying to trace the fault ,before giving it up as a bad job.
Later ,at the caravan site when people found out the surf was still u/s ....Sumo ,Tony & Koi spent another 3hrs underneath testing & rerouting wires etc.
All to no avail...pitch black ,cold & tired ...& it still wasn,t working.
I arranged to go to langdale with the surf convoy ....but with the car u/s I fully intended going off out for the day with the family & the dog.
As I pulled out of the caravan site ...out of curiosity I flicked in the 4wd.....IT WORKED....I tried it again ...& it still worked.
We got to langdale & when I tried it again ,it still worked....so after a slight discussion ( the wife hates offroading) we all completed the course with the others.
The major disappointment was the dry weather had reduced the mud & water on the course to the extent that a lot of the regular routes were no challenge at all.
After dinner several cars set out to conquer some of the "black" routes ...& it seems this would have provided a much more entertaining day if we had started them earlier.
