Still in the planning stage, I,d like to invite fellow surfers to a weekend surf-fest.
The date thats been suggested is 9th - 12th of April. This is a FRI & MON BH weekend .Ideal if you want to travel from outside the area & make a long weekend of it.
    http://www.langdalequest.co.uk/
This is a great site for first - timers & experienced surfers alike .
I won,t describe it ....just follow the link .
We need to get at least 10 + cars there to book as a group & get a 50% discount. The site will be open on Sat & Sun & I may be able to find some green lanes in the area
Obviously the weather may be chilly at this time of year so I am looking for suggestions on where people would like to stay.
If we want to stay together we would need a chalet or caravan park (preferably with a pub on site )
Or are people happy to stay in a B&B & just meet for the off-roading & maybe in a pub for a meal on the night ?
If we go anywhere as a group we will probably need to book asap as this will be a busy weekend.
This area is a National Park & an area of outstanding beauty even in Spring.

Hell yes, I'll be there. Just as long as I don't have to walk more than 1/2 a mile to the pub. If I do, let me know - I'll just bring me tent and a few bottles of JD

Ok, I'll make some enquiries about a campsite .This is the place Sumo went when he came up here http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/re...asp?revid=3512

I know he was very pleased with it & would use it again .We had a meal in the site pub with him & the food & drink were very nice.
I was thinking of taking my caravan up there & if a few others stay at the same site it will give us a good base.
Anybody who wants a bit more comfort should have no problem getting accomodation close by & they can meet up with us
I'll wait until we get at least 10 - 12 requests & then give them a ring to see if they will accept a group.
When Sumo stayed there was a very good car boot sale on the Sun morning just down the road from the pub.

Yeah , that link is just someones review of the site inc. details of address & phone number etc.
I'm not sure that they have a website or email , you just need to use the good old dog & bone

I was going to ring them myself & ask if they had anything to rent or even rooms in the pub ?
Sumo might know more when he gets on ?

Hi guys, been to Langdale Quest myself a couple of times.

I stayed in a chalet at a place called Keldy Cabins, just north of Pickering, about 30 mins away and a drive through Dalby Forest. Place costs around £160 for a weekend but cabins sleep from 6 to 8 and have facilities for dogs.

I think you can find the information at www.forestholidays.co.uk or might be .com.

If not then put a search in for Forest Holidays

looks good that. we dont mind sharing a cabin there are seperate rooms.

a quick look shows it works out about £40 each for 3 nights in 10 berth stone cottage.
but only 2 cars so extra £5 per car on top

not bad price, not checked availability for dates tho.
