I changed the rack bushes the other year, can't say I've noticed any sloppiness in the steering at all.Originally posted by BUSHWHACKER View PostHaven't looked into it, but you have a steering rack and I don't think 3rd gens have a 'rag' joint.
The sloppyness in the steering is cause by worn rack bushes.

Just thought it would be one of those mods even I could undertake. If its not broke don't fix it. If its not broke don't fix it.

You could probably find something here if you want a fiddle with your truck.....Originally posted by si tate View PostI changed the rack bushes the other year, can't say I've noticed any sloppiness in the steering at all.

theres not much point in a plate if the rag joints removed - it bolts straight up. a plate wont make it any stronger or give any benefit.Originally posted by Albannach View PostDoes anyone know the PCD of the bolts? I fancy this mod too, but would rather replace the rag joint with a plate, or add a plate(s) to the joint.

you only need to lengthen the shaft if it has been lifted and i'm sure yoshie will have a wee bit pipe to glue on.

i think vince made a spacer cos he didn't have any pipe to hand.

you will notice the difference in the steering straight away
