  • got me stumped!

hi the truck seems to running like a cow again, just cost me an arm and leg for diff replacement as seems to have lost its teeth..
    now we have ofter issues.
its running ok once started and runs fine until its warmed up then when you stop or slow down where it jumps, shakes and some time stools when you stop or pull up,but most of the time just starts shakeing .
so much shakeing things even fall off the non slip mat on the dashboard.
    what could it be???
    the truck is a 94/L kzn130
    manual
its been doing it now for about 3 weeks.
it was doing it before the new diff was fitted.
i did find a little water in the fuel filter but not changeD this yet as letting tank run down first.
i've changed the oil and checked all the hose's around the turbo and the bulkhead.
PLEASE HELP!!!MY HANDS ARE START TO HURT HOLDING ON TO THE WHEEL WHEN IT SHAKES..

The small rubber vacuum pipes on and around the throttle body are either mixed up or come off.

If I remember correctly, the butterfly/vac hose situation would only cause the shakes on engine shutdown, not during normal running conditions. You're not suffering any diesel knock or other such symptoms?

sorry not sure what diesel knock is?
when it starts shakeing which normaly starts after about 15 mins of driving,if you blip the pedel a few time it tends to stop doing it.
all i can tell you is there was a tiny bit of water in the sample i took from the filter and it was cloudy.the sample not the weather!!

Last section or so at the bottom of the page gives a description:

Sorry to butt my nose in, but isn't Diesel knock just a fuel-vapourisation issue... just noisy rarther than problematic?

In it's mild form, generally. In an advanced form, it can be extremely detrimental to the engine.

ahh no then i have no increased engine noise and rough running,if anything when its running its going better then ever, better pulling throught the gears and seems to pick up better between 4th and 5th (50-70mph).
the overall running is ok until you brake and slow to stop.
