Sounds like time to replace filters. Also check throttle position sensor.

the hose's all seem ok,is the (throttle butterfly) a spaceship looking thing? i thought these were to do with vaccum. found a way to stop it shakeing for now i just puss the extra revs button on dash!!
mot tomorrow, should be ok for that as they dont need to drive much, then ill do the filters.

Maybe the idle needs adjusting up.

            looked at that too,
when the shakeing starts the revs drop down to about 300,400, then after reving a few times jump back up to around 600 and ticks over around that mark.
just dont know is causeing it to do it.!!

              hi all,
Today as it has stopped raining i managed to look at surf again,
i found that a valve type thing under the air box pipe is split...this has 2 hose's going into it,one coming from the caseing and one from the turbo sensor.
              could this be the problem?.
And can anyone tell me what it is?
and where to get a replacement?
              cheers

Could it be a sticky injector at low rpm??

unable to upload pics but can send it by email!
should be easy to see as it attached to turbo sensor in a clip on side of block.

been to see the man at garage today and he thinks the fuel pump is playing up,could he be right?
he said 3.0 surfs suffer from this!!!????!!!
any idea how much a new one would be and how easy to fit?

hope so,as don't want to get a replacement and find it's wrong.
is the 2.4 pump the same or do i have to stick to looking for a 3.0 one?

Fuel pumps very rarely fail or give trouble, it's more likely to be an auxillary component, ie; injector, filter, sensor, dodgy connection etc.

Most mechanics seem to blame the fuel pump when they run out of ideas, and can make a convincing argument.

Before replacing the fuel pump ( which again is rarely required) get it looked at by a diesel injection specialist ( diesel bob if he's local to you)

Do not be talked into expensive repairs by a mechanic who is not an injection specialist.
