Better stock up on rear axles too!

Ok... looked them up and as good as that sounds, there seems to have been a small case of eyes bigger than wallet.

I remember you mentioning a max 40% power increase can be achieved on stock internals and ECU, that would be around the 400 mark anyway?... is it possible?

How much power do you think a stock surf can handle? as well as the engine, given the weaker rods etc.
What would be the max, safe power output that won't make a massive dent in reliability or break anything?

the massive dent wont be reliability - the dent will be in your pocket buying gogo juice for the 400hp motor

The bhp threshold for the VVTi is 380bhp before the block needs to be opened up.
That be achieved with different cams a bit of porting and custom exhaust headers. =££££
The easiest way to achieve it is fit the M112 with the appropriate sized pulley to create around 6psi of boost and 7mgte injectors.=££.
Both options will work with the factory ECU.

True dat... Liked the ratio change you've done, have you made the initial costs back in fuel yet? or have you just driven more?

You could do that with the standard VVTi's power output.

just a general observation, but wouldn't standard headers and intake restrict the flow too much for 400 hp, especially asking a blower to help out? I know my old car released around 30 odd real hp off the custom headers alone...

They're a better design on the VVTi engine, I guess to cope with the bigger throttle body and valves and higher comp. ratio.

Individual throttle butterflys in the intake manifold too....

Wow... that's quite a difference from the standard, is that an internet pick or the real thing? the sun has thrown me off!

                      Haha this forum's great!

Actually there's a particular one in mind, a friend has just spent an extortionate amount on a BMW and nothing would annoy him more...

That's Brilliant, a much more realistic plan. Can the M112 fit to the 1uz using the same adaptor plate as the M90? If so... Sold... will start trawling for parts.

                                http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-PRO-AI...item3ef7cbdec8

Plus a bag of kiln dried sand, £5 from a builder's merchant and compressed air, obviously.
