I'm aware there are plenty of posts about diff breathers on here, I think I've read them all. Anyway, I've done the axles, they were simple enough. I want to do the transfer case, gearbox and fuel tank (can someone confirm the fuel tank has one?)
I had a mooch around today and found the transfer case breather, I can just reach it from under the car due to the lift (and my skinny girl hands). It doesn't seem to have a hex bolt on it to unscrew it. I found one post on here (for a manual gearbox) that states the gearbox breathers are pressed in (not screwed), is this the case on my 3L Auto? Some people pop the top off and fix the pipe straight to the existing union, is that the easiest way to do it? If so what diameter pipe fits?
Is this the same for the gearbox breather too? I read the gearbox breather has a pipe on it already (can someone confirm that as I've not had a chance to find that one yet?) Is it easy enough to pop that pipe off and stick on a new longer pipe, again what diameter pipe fits?
I also read on one post that the fuel tank has a breather, is this true and does that need extending?
Thanks.
