I did this today, just to be safe in the knowledge it would work properly.
2nd gen 3.0
Easy job. Remove shroud to get plenty of room to work.

Undo the 4 bolts holding fan assembly on

remove fan from viscous coupling, 4 nuts.

Use an impact driver to undo the screws holding both halves of assembly.

turn both parts over and let the old oil drain out, give it all a good wipe down and then replace the oil. Assemble parts and bobs your uncle.
don't disturb the rubber seal when taking apart and cleaning.
