  • Turbo

Hi all.I have noticed this morning that there is a rattling coming from around the turbo area.I know i went a bit mad in mud on thursday so iwas just wondering if getting the engine etc lagged in mud would cause the problem with the turbo.

i take it the 2.4 and 3l turbo's are totally differant aswell

Yeah, they are different Turbo's. Snoop has a spare, but you need to race Gary to it......

Mud would'nt effect the Turbo, but excessive RPM's does, People forget to keep an eye on the rev counter while digging holes in mud in low gears........

The turbo only really spins when the exhaust gasses are being forced through it, I.E. when you rev the engine hard.

Pull off the inlet hose, and check that the turbo spins freely using your finger, with no graunchy sounds, and check that there is no excessive side to side movement of the impeller shaft. Thats about all there is to go wrong with a turbo really, apart from the seals and the wastegate assembly.

Make sure the engines not running when you check it.
