is this a particulary slow timefor the forum?

I've now been heavily into 3 different forums.
The first was lovely and everything was positive.
The second was here. More of a villqge community, where if you are not kmown people stare...
And the latest, people stare but smile and are polite...

It seems most forums are self regulating and have ther own set of rules and regs... accept them.and enjoy. Your next car forum will be very different so do not try and compare, it doesn't work.
And yes, a quality melt down is good for bonding!

I'll wade in with my two pence,as I am never confrontational or outspoken on any subject.
I find it bewildering when an opinion is voiced and the self appointed forum do gooders comment in reply totally missing the original point of the thread.

At least with Thrugi he/she was consistent.
For all those who think the forum is a bit quiet, perhaps they should start a "bring back Thrugi" campaign.

I had better add a winking smilie so all the people who have had a humour bypass will know that most of this is said in jest.

Plenty of them out there if you can put up working for them..

Trip will be for one-two years...heading east ending in India and nepal...hopefully.. Others on here have heard me banging on about it for awhile, so that's enough info for now...

I assume, that the third, to which you refer is HPOC. I'm Happy for you that you feel comfortable on there. Just don't mention ( especially to the lout with the small French car ) that you have / used to have a Surf.

So I'm going to do what a lot have already done & what most others are thinking about - f##k it off & use the search facility as a guest when need be.

I know I'm a relative newcomer but there seems to be a few people on here that profess to know what I, and others are thinking. ########!
This forum has been a lot of help in the short time I've owned a Surf and I appreciate the answers I have had to various queries I have had. I have also tried to help others with my varied but long (cos i'm old) mechanical background.
I usually work on the theory, "If you have nothing good to say, say nothing" but it appears that some think that their opinion is right regardless. Personally I think they belong on farcebook.

Just because you consider yourself a "newcomer" that doesn't mean to say that your opinion is more or less valid than "lifers".
I think we should all speak up and speak out.
If you have an opinion you should voice it, if, after a reasoned discussion you can not see eye to eye, so what?
We all have different views and opinions on a wide variety of subjects and it would be far far better for these views to be shared.
