        If its the belt I intend to take the lights, put a small paw shaped decal on them then stick then on ebay listed as 'Limited edition Jack Wolfskin interior monster truck lights. Best on ebay. Don't miss out. Improve MPG, BHP and OCD'

        Should get me enough for some dumbass to give me enough funds to buy a Diesel Landcruiser.

        Anyone shilling to bid 'em up for me?

            Finally home and able to check.
            Vince, I pulled the top of the belt cover away and the belt seems to be there and be pretty tight.

            Fuel pump seems not to have a leak (with the high percentage of veg I run I have been waiting for the seals to go)

            Not sure I'm confident enough to pull the injectors off- I'm as likely to break something as fix it, I'll have a look through how to's and think on it otherwise I'll see if I can find a mobile mech round here who's not a numpty.


            As additional info my batteries are old and though I've never had any problems they are corroded pretty badly inside.

            I'm going to get them charging today

              loosen an injector pipe from the back of the pump or at an injector, and see if fuel squirts out while cranking.

              I suspect a Spill Control Valve problem.

              If not that then I'd want to compression check it to make sure its mechanically sound, and not done something to a piston, valve or headgasket.

                Gotta say im with tony here,also check for a 6 volt supply at the pump spill control.Could be an ecu problem see if you can pull the codes.

                    Right... an update

                    Firstly I am a pussy. Just been outside, looked at the injector and bottled out of giving it welly with a spanner as it looks too much like I'll be twisting the fuel line. (Thats if I'm attacking the right bit of course )

                    As I can't seem to find anything in previous posts about how to remove an injector with idiot proof pics.

                    In this pic do I undo a) the top nut or b) the bottom nut or c) neither of the above, I'll break something?

                    Once done is there enough slack to pull the line out enough to see if theres fuel getting through?

                    I recorded the sound when I try and turn the engine over in case that sheds any light (cant work out how to imbed audio so took a video instead).

                      I think the timing belt has snaped because to me as it sounds like you are getting lot's of compresson from non opening valve's.
                      I know you say the timing belt look's ok but have you checked it is turning when you crank it over

                          Paul, it's definitely timing belt related, either the tensioner is buggered and/or the belt has jumped a couple of teeth.
                          As said above, the compression strokes don't sound right. You need to get the front cover off and check all the timing marks are lined up.
                          You said it was running rough before it died so i would say the belt has jumped.

                              Sounds like you're batteries are still flat!!

                              You need to undo the top nut (14mm) in your other pic.

                                Sounded the same when I stuck them back in fully charged. Unless they're knackered that is.

                                Re: the injector, so just undo it, lift the line out, then turn the engine over and see if it I get a veg oil money shot?
