thanks for all your help guys!! will fill it with 50/50 red on tuesday. silly me, didn't think of the corrosion when i filled it with water :-s hopefully not too much damage done!! thanks again

if you use toyota ready mixed red coolant do NOT mix it with water it goes in neat.

and to tonyn corrosion is due to moisture or acid/fumes attacking exposed steel/alloys , erosion is usually caused by movement of liquid ie a river running through a field or coolant fluid being pumped round an engine.
