      Now before Andy goes all H&S on me, I stopped with the 230amp when the drizzel came on

          I have a good number of American friends. I have been to stay over there a few times. Just like all places there will be idiots. Shame he represented Americans on that site though.
          On another note, we're planning our next NASCAR trip. Hope to get to a mud bogging event too

                            hey Sparks, its 230amps DC, step-down voltage, not sure exactly but taking into account max a standard plug top will handle is 13amps, then your looking at

                            2.99KW (230 x13) or in DC 230amps would be 13v

                            just used calculator then realised it all works out evenly

                            No wiat i am thinking of an ARC welder, wonder if they work on the same principle for arc :P oh well

                              I can't run it full tilt of a 13amp plug. If I need to crank it up to 6 for the full 230amp I need to plug into a 30amp socket. Up to 5 is fine on a 13amp plug and that will weld 8mm steel so never had the need to go to the bigger amp socket. {yet}

                              Just tell him am right and to apologise
