As to Dieselboys original post, I to have found it's pointless to argue with some moderators. I got a warning for posting a question in the wrong section of one forum and no matter how eloquent my request for the warning to be removed the mod repeatedly replied that if I didn't like his judgement I could p*ss off!
I'm half Scottish and not offended by that. Always found it quite amusing actually.

Not the part that contains your brain then?

This was a lighthearted discussion about perceived racism and offence, you however, have made a deliberately offensive comment with your edit.

Attempting to justify it by saying you're half Scottish and think it's funny doesn't wash, sorry.

          I'm 100% Scottish and 100% with Yoshie, you're a t1t.

Ah, now I see the reasoning, the guy who made the remark is from Newcastle Under Lyme, a long way from Newcastle Upon Tyne!
Sorry mate I was being too clever for my own good I just picked up on the Newcastle bit, he’s still a knuckle dragger wherever he comes from.

                I'm just a little confused. Rusthino...bad.
Porridge wog and an abbreviation for Japanese are worlds apart. This was a good thread, that I was looking forward to contributing on...but now my mojo has gone. That was just plain offensive.

Hey, no problem! I had a fantastic time in Scotland last year on the Applecross trip. Yoshie, Andy and everyone else involved made it a trip to remember and their hospitality was brilliant.

Every time I went to see them, they hung me upside down, flushed my head down the toilet and stole my pocket money...

Here we go. For what it's worth, I'd saying calling a person a Jap is offensive, calling something Jap isn't. But that's me.

I did think that using 'Scot' as term for, well, a Scot was probably a bit meaningless, but I would have gone for 'Jock' if I was trying to use a nickname. I've never heard the term 'porridge wog' but I'd avoid it if I was trying to be friendly....

As for Dieselboy, I think this mod on Yotatech has gone in off the deep end a little bit, but I've come across plenty of mods like that. Rules are rules, no matter how retarded and inconsistently applied, and there's no point arguing with them or you just get banned....

Rusthino overstepped the mark in a few different ways, I'm pretty sure he knows that now. Being half Scottish doesn't change the remark, it's intent or the soul crushing harm it has done to me as a proud Scot.

I prefer Scot or Scotsman, I ###### hate Jock, maybe just me but it's no different from calling and Irishman "Paddy" which I think most Irish would agree is pretty bad.

I thought the mod on Yotatech got a little carried away unless the term jap was used in an offensive way, so just to check I phoned my bass player he also has students staying at his place most of the school term and usualy ones from the far east, his wife of 22 years is Thai and quite a stunning cook, helps the homesickness if you can get easten style food while your away for months at a time from home I guess.

Anyhow two of the current students are Japanese, so I got him to ask them if using the word Jap in relation to a car or person was offensive, they laughed mentioned brit then asked about my toyota surf...

And this thread seems to have derailed a bit.

I'm Welsh, I don't care what anyone calls me taffy gog sheep--erm I just laugh at it, and if someone is trying to get me at it with pronouns then I can't help but laugh even harder shame for them.
