Insurance advice please... :D

Hi all
Insurance is due for renewal in a couple of weeks, had a few quotes form suppose'd import specialists!! ha ha ###### ha... Cheapest so far is Life sure @ £381 fully comp, but still seems a bit steep to me... I'm 34, got 10yrs ncd, 17yrs driving, no claims, no points, it's garaged... However I do need to use it for work, and I'm self employed... I've tried sureterm, A-plan, swinton, insurance choice and probably a few others that I didn't other writing down...
So, does anyone have any other companies I should try?? If I could save myself a few my quids I'd be a very happy bunny!!!

Might be worth giving Aquote a try - I use them for bike insurance and they're pretty good to deal with. Try phoning them (or indeed any of the companies you've got quotes from) and ask them what their best deal is. Make up a price you've been offered if needs be and get them to beat it.

For car insurance I've always found LV to give me the best price - I get a discount for being a member of the CSMA (basically cos my dad is a retired postman).

I have almost exactly the same criteria as you except that I'm retired, limited to 4K miles per annum & is for social & domestic use only. I've always found Direct Line the cheapest. My quote for this year from them was £212 fully comp.

(Big factors on insurance depends on the assumed risk of your postcode, your employment & age of course. (I'm 54) Though I'm sure you know all this.)

Could be worth checking out.

Ahh well you've obviously not had to listen to the ####s that I've been speaking to in the last few days trying to sort out the insurance...
