As for insurance. I use Flux. I'm older and have more NCB than you, all mods declared and off road cover included, I think my premium is roughly what you are being quoted, but I can't remember exactly.

Hi try NFU mutual i have just insured my 2nd gen 3.0 ssrg surf for £300 and get 500 tools cover and £1000 trailer cover, full comp was the best one i could findOriginally posted by Surfinalltheway View PostHi all
Insurance is due for renewal in a couple of weeks, had a few quotes form suppose'd import specialists!! ha ha ###### ha... Cheapest so far is Life sure @ £381 fully comp, but still seems a bit steep to me... I'm 34, got 10yrs ncd, 17yrs driving, no claims, no points, it's garaged... However I do need to use it for work, and I'm self employed... I've tried sureterm, A-plan, swinton, insurance choice and probably a few others that I didn't other writing down...
So, does anyone have any other companies I should try?? If I could save myself a few my quids I'd be a very happy bunny!!!
Thank you in advance...

I've always wondered about that question too. When I lived in my flat, my car was always parked outside on a busy street. I reckon there would be less chance of it being nicked out there than in a quiet and hidden from view garage, but my insurance cost more. You know when insurers ask if the vehicle is garaged? what happens if it's nicked when it's not, say when out shopping or in a carpark, will they refuse to pay up?
Seems a B/S question to me.Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

Hi garaged is just where its kept overnight and yes if its stolen overnight and not garaged they could refuse to pay up. But if mine was stolen overnight from my drive when it was supposed to be in the garage then it must have been that night i went to the 24hr supermarket at 3 am and it went missing from the carparkOriginally posted by BUSHWHACKER View Post£147 for me with AF.

The only trouble with that one, is most supermarkets have cctv on thier carparks.... Might have to find another place to go, where cctv is not, if that situation ever arose...Originally posted by ziggy View PostHi garaged is just where its kept overnight and yes if its stolen overnight and not garaged they could refuse to pay up. Just got my renewal notice from Flux this morning, not a happy man
58 years old no claims for over 20 years held full licence for 41 years, no points, wife as named driver no claims or points, held licence for 32 years , vehicle kept on driveway at night and they want £309 fully comp last year it was only about £260! Think I'll be shopping around a bit.
