I did something stupid today!

Was working on the back end of the truck. LC springs & locators, ES9000s, adjustable Panhard rod and ARB removal.

Fitted the O/S spring, no problem. On to the N/S one, I thought, 'I'm swapping the Panhard rod, so I'll disconnect it to give me some more room.' So I disconnected it, but hadn't checked that my shiny new one had been modified properly. It hadn't and was too long, even at its shortest!

What a pain in the arse it is to re-fit the original one...

Oh yes, I made the mistake of removing one end of the panhard rod once

I done that on me YJ, threw it away in the end.

If there is a couple of you it's sometimes easier.

It's easier to fit it if the truck is on axle stands, placed under the chassis rails, so the axle 'hangs' free.

It was, still a pain in the hoop! Would have been a doddle with ratchet tie downs to pull everything into alignment...

I broke a ratchet strap doing that...

Once I get one working one, I'll see how much it will cost to get more made. They won't be free though, I can only get one made as a favour...

If it makes you feel better andy, I do something stupid quite often. I can come round so you can laugh at the English fella with a screwdriver stuck in his head....long story.

Taking the panhard out may be stupid, but I found taking the upper right control arm out, so it wouldnt hit the tank, and let the axle drop further to make it easier to get the spring in, stupiderer.

It went something like this. "O is that a surf panard rod mate" "yes it is I was going to mess with it, making it adjustable" "O mate that's what I want and I have a guy that can mess with one" "Ok take it, I supose you do stop me burning more trucks"
