I didn't realise it was on general release. I'll go buy it tomorrow.
Honestly if you have the chance go & see the 3D version in the cinema. It will not be the same on dvd.
I rarely get carried away by any film but Avatar 3D is a different experience.

I love the cinema, I just don't like the other people who are there watching the film!

If you want to eat, drink, talk, text, go to the pub. If you want to grope a partner of your choice get a room!

If you want to see a film, just sit there, enjoy it and shut the hell up!

      Yours sincerely,

I wholeheartedly agree. It has to be seen in 3d at the cinema. It'll lose sooooooo much in 2d. still be a great film but not as great for sure.
It's only kinky the first time...

I must say there was not a sound uttered either time i went to see it. Even my son, who's mildly autistic & can't help himself, was silent throughout the whole film. I was as amazed at that as I was the film.

            Spot on.
When i went to see Lord of the rings two there was 2 ignorant idiots (a couple) behind me bickering about something or other.
I was thoroughly enjoying the show obviously so i eventually turned around & shushed them very very loudly & someone else advised them to leave if they wanted to have a chat, it seemed to do the trick & they left a few minutes later. Unbelievable.
What annoyed me was the fact they came in a good 30 minutes late & decided to have an argument in front of 50/60 people who had paid money to be there.

Haven't been to see it yet, I must admit I'm not entirley convinced by the 3D thing as the last film I went to see like that was Jaws and it was awfull, do you still have to wear the silly red and green glasses???

Have to agree Starwars was great but at the time of seeing it I was torn between that and Dune, both were brill but Starwars was the better film.

I wasn't at all convinced about the 3D thing before but i was advised by someone who has seen both versions 3d & 2d & he said the 3d version was much more enjoyable.
You do wear glasses but they're plastic & fairly comfortable. They have no color tint at all.

I have to say this is the only film I've ever seen twice at the cinema - Storyline is a bit old hat, warrior falls in love with the native way of life and defects to the other side (Last Samurai, Dances with wolves etc) with subtle variations.
But visually it is stunning, and the CGI is just seemless - By the way the blue alien girl is played by Zoe Saldana - Uhara from new Star Trek, who is also hot (in a geeky way)
“Do or do not... there is no try.”
